A new home decor season has begun. The start of autumn also means it's time to look ahead to the fall home decor trends. Our interior stylist, Judith, shares the fall trend colors and the materials we'll be seeing this fall.
Outside, we see a source of beauty; many yellows and oranges spring forth. We bring the autumn colors indoors, and it's shaping up to be a colorful autumn. This season, you'll see a lot of orange. This warm, cheerful color is full of vital energy and also encourages creativity and a good mood.
Outside, it's cold and it gets dark early. Inside, you're cozy and warm by the stove. Wool, faux fur, and teddy bears are perfect for creating a warm and cozy home. Use natural, light colors combined with brown and black to make your home radiate tranquility. A sleek design with a soft feel is what defines this interior trend. Light wood, clay, and ceramic: these natural and earthy materials make the home a pleasant living environment.

Orange, an energetic and stimulating paint color, is ideal for teen rooms where young people are bursting with energy. If you want to use orange in the living room, it's best to choose a softer or rust-colored orange. Orange is also an ideal color for painting the kitchen or dining room, as orange in the kitchen provides the necessary energy for cooking and in the dining room it stimulates the appetite. Finally, orange is perfect for adding a touch of vibrancy to cold spaces like the basement, utility room, or hallway.
Orange is a secondary color created by mixing the primary colors red and yellow. Orange is directly opposite blue on the color wheel, meaning that blue and orange are complementary colors and therefore combine well. This doesn't always have to be painted walls. Furniture, curtains, accessories... everything has color!
Those who prefer a more subdued color palette can also choose to combine orange shades. However, avoid too much bright orange, as it can quickly come across as overpowering or garish. Ideally, paint one wall a vibrant orange, while keeping the other walls neutral and soft. To emphasize the warm, Mediterranean effect of orange, consider combining it with yellow or earth tones. This creates a rich yet calming color scheme.
Is orange too intense for you? To create a balanced look, consider a tone-on-tone color palette full of earthy tones. Soft earthy browns, beiges, and terracottas will introduce a touch of warmth in autumn. Reddish-brown and brown tones are a top choice for autumn and immediately create a warm living atmosphere.
Materials
The subtle sheen of bronze will be widely seen in the fall of 2022, in vases, candlesticks, and lighting. Iron is also making a comeback as a material in the home. Furthermore, gold will continue to be a frequently recurring material this fall, for example in curtains, cushions, and upholstery.
Soft wool blankets and teddy bear pillows are all essential fall essentials as we head back indoors!
